Conservative leaders are fed up with Vice President Kamala Harris’ response to natural disasters in America. They blasted her for politicizing the impending danger of Hurricane Milton after her awful response to Hurricane Helene, which has killed hundreds and left thousands of Americans in need of shelter and basic necessities.
Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis addressed Harris’ criticism of his leadership as Hurricane Milton is set to make landfall.
“She’s the first one who’s trying to politicize the storm, and she’s doing that just because of her campaign. She’s trying to get some type of an edge. She knows she’s doing poorly. And so she’s playing these political games,” he stated during an interview on Fox News.
“I don’t have time for political games. I’ve got people whose lives are on the line. I’ve got people whose homes and their possessions are on the line. And we are focused 100 percent on that mission. I’m not worried about playing her political games,” DeSantis continued.
He called her “selfish by trying to blunder into this when we’re working just fine.”
Rep. Anna Paulina Luna, R-Fla., destroyed Harris during an interview with Benny Johnson. She noted that Joe Biden has been supportive and addressed Harris’s criticisms of the Florida hurricane prep stating, “You have the bipartisan support locally, and at the state level, and even at the White House, but it is evident that Kamala Harris did try to make this political.”
She went on, “A lot of people in my community are furious at the fact that they might not get their homes covered. And then you have her saying ‘We’ll offer you $750.’ Meanwhile, literally $1.01 billion has gone to illegals.”
Luna described the uncertainty and the importance of “who they want to rely on in times of crisis, and we are absolutely in a crisis right now.”
Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., took another approach on his personal X account, posting a meme of Florida listed as Ukraine on a map of the southeast United States, pointing out the lack of support for Americans while taxpayer dollars continue to be flooded into the Ukraine war.
This came days after Gaetz revealed that whistleblowers contacted him about FEMA’s “severe mismanagement issues” regarding Hurricane Helene recovery after an alleged $1.4 billion taxpayer dollars were sent to illegal immigrants and Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas claimed that the agency is lacking “enough have funds” to help American taxpayers who the hurricane has affected.
Sen. John Kennedy, R-La., agreed. He posted a clip Tuesday of his interview on Fox News on the subject stating, “Hurricanes are devastating American communities, but VP Kamala Harris wants to send millions to a country run by Iran-backed terrorists.”
He stated during the interview, “Helene was a monster storm. We saw it coming. The federal government had time to prepare. It wasn’t prepared. We don’t have nearly enough soldiers and military helicopters rescuing people.”
Kennedy described a lack of proper FEMA response and blasted Harris for considering sending hundreds of millions of dollars overseas while Americans are hurting.
“There’s no reward for being stupid,” he concluded.
