President Donald Trump will hold a rally in at Madison Square Garden in New York City just days ahead of the election.

The event is scheduled for Oct. 27, nine days before Election Day, following through on plans Trump mentioned in April.

“We’re going to be doing a rally at Madison Square Garden, we believe,” Trump said at the time, according to New York’s NBC 4.

“We think we’re signing Madison Square Garden to do. We’re going to have a big rally honoring the police, and honoring the firemen, and everybody. Honoring a lot of people, including teachers by the way,” he continued. “We’ll be honoring the people that make New York work.”

Trump also mentioned a rally at the venue during a Fox News interview in February.

“[I] think I’ll do one maybe at Madison Square Garden,” he told Maria Bartiromo during a “Sunday Morning Futures” interview.

“New York has changed a lot in the last two years,” Trump added. “People that would have never voted for me because I’m a Republican … I think they’re going to vote for me.”

In December, Trump also teased an event at the location during an interview with Breitbart News.

“But we’re going to do these other states too, and it will be a heavy move. I may rent Madison Square Garden and that’s the belly of the beast, right?” he said.

The event follows the 45th president’s rally at Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale, Long Island, which drew 16,000 attendees.

Trump also held an outdoor rally in the Bronx during the summer with approximately 10,000 supporters.

Madison Square Gardens holds a capacity crowd of over 19,000, serving as the home of the New York Knicks NBA basketball team and the Rangers NHL hockey team. It has also served as the host of past national conventions for both Republicans and Democrats.

The Trump campaign has yet to make an official announcement regarding the Madison Square Garden event.

Vice President Kamala Harris also recently visited New York City. She held three interviews, including “The Howard Stern Show,” “The View” and “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.”
