Herschel Walker, the U.S. Senate GOP nominee in Georgia, is holding a steady lead ahead of incumbent Sen. Raphael Warnock, D-Ga., the day before midterms.
According to a final Trafalgar group poll, Walker is leading by three points, maintaining a projected 50 percent of support to Warnock’s 47 percent.
Walker famously garnered the endorsement of President Donald Trump in 2021, boosting the former NFL player’s political standing.
“Herschel Walker is a friend, a Patriot, and an outstanding American who is going to be a GREAT United States Senator. He embodies the ‘America First’ and the winning spirit of Georgia,” Trump wrote in the endorsement.
Trump has been a stalwart ally to Walker through the hard weeks of campaigning in the Peach State, defending the popular Senate hopeful against a slew of media-driven smear campaigns.
“Herschel Walker is being slandered and maligned by the Fake News Media and obviously, the Democrats,” Trump said in October. “… It’s very important for our Country and the Great State of Georgia that Herschel Walker wins this Election.”
The Trafalgar poll also showed that incumbent Gov. Brian Kemp, R-Ga., was up by nine points over Democrat challenger Stacey Abrams. If Georgia’s Senate race goes red, the state is poised to become a veritable conservative stronghold after Tuesday.
“I’m a Warrior for God, running against a wolf in sheep’s clothing and a hypocrite,” Walker wrote on Twitter in late October. “The Lord has prepared me for a moment like this, and I’m ready to go out there and fight for all of you. It’s time we return this seat to the PEOPLE.”
