Republican Georgia U.S. Senate nominee Herschel Walker had a message for voters in the Peach State as the Senate runoff election commences, bringing a grueling and powerful campaign to a final close. “The Lord prepared me for a moment like this, and Georgia, I’m ready to get out there and fight for YOU,” Team Herschel posted on Twitter. “It’s time we return this seat to the PEOPLE.”
Walker’s personal account reshared the message with the caption, “GET OUT AND VOTE TODAY!”
Following an extremely tight Senate race in November that triggered a runoff election, Walker is locked in a heated contest with Georgia incumbent Democrat Sen. Raphael Warnock.
On Tuesday, President Trump made a final push for Walker as Election Day voting commenced, urging Georgians to cast their ballots for the former NFL athlete. “Herschel was a fantastic Athlete, and he will be an even greater United States Senator!” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “To all MAGA Voters, that is, people that want to Make America Great Again and Put America First…Vote for Herschel!”
Team Herschel emphasized the importance of showing up and voting in the Senate runoff. “If you did NOT vote in November, you can still vote on 12/6,” the reminded Georgians. The account also noted that “Voting should be quicker on 12/6, as early voting locations were limited.”
As reported by RSBN, The American Spectator projected that early voting appeared to be favoring Walker, with a potential 1.32 of 1.87 million early ballots tending to prefer Walker as a candidate over Warnock.
According to Team Herschel, Gov. Ron DeSantis, R-Fla., reportedly endorsed Walker in his Senate race right as Election Day approached. “I’m proud to endorse Herschel Walker for U.S. Senate,” the endorsement posted on their account read. “We can’t let Biden Democrats, like Raphael Warnock, hold this U.S. Senate seat. We need conservative leaders to help restore America. Tuesday, December 6, vote Herschel Walker for U.S. Senate.”
