The House Ways and Means Committee, in a significant move, voted on Wednesday to release 100 pages of documents from the Hunter Biden deposition, reportedly proving that he lied under oath.
The New York Post reported that the evidence provided by whistleblowers Joseph Ziegler and Gary Shapley, who investigated Hunter Biden, revealed that he lied at least three times in his sworn testimony during a closed-door deposition.
The investigation examined evidence that revealed Biden’s threatening text messages to a Chinese business associate, Raymond Zhao.
Biden swore that he was under the influence when he sent the messages and did not mean the threats. However, the evidence indicates otherwise.
Now, the House Ways and Means Committee has voted to release the documents that Biden had lied during his deposition. These documents were protected under tax code confidentiality laws unless officially released. The Post Millennial shared what House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Jason Smith, R-Mo., had to say about Biden’s actions.
“Hunter Biden has shown once again he believes there are two systems of justice in this country – one for his family and one for everyone else.” The congressman added, “Not only did Hunter Biden refuse to comply with his initial subpoena until threatened with criminal contempt, but he then came before Congress and lied.”
The release of these documents will ensure that the law is applied fairly and equally. According to the New York Post, Smith elaborated by saying, “Lying during sworn testimony is a felony offense that the Department of Justice has prosecuted numerous individuals for in recent years, and the American people expect the same accountability for the son of the President of the United States.”
