Rep. Rodney Davis, R-Ill., introduced the American Confidence in Elections (ACE) Act, seeking to improve the integrity and security of elections in the country.

Davis, a ranking member on the Committee on House Administration announced in an op-ed published in The Hill:

“Today I’m introducing the American Confidence in Elections (ACE) Act. This comprehensive legislation addresses issues in our federal elections while upholding our federalist principles. It’s coupled with corresponding model state legislation for each state to consider as we all work to improve election integrity.”

Davis said that the ACE Act will provide states “with tools to boost election integrity and removes outdated federal policies that get in their way.”

For instance, the bill would make it easier for states to issue photo voter IDs by reforming the already existing REAL ID Act, improving the state’s voter list maintenance process, and creating a federal forum where states can assess ways to expand and improve signature verification, observer access, and delivery of mail-in-ballots, Davis wrote.

The outlet further reported that the ACE Act is contrary to Democrats’ election reform bill, H.R.1.

Rep. Claudia Tenney, R-N.Y., who worked closely with Davis on the ACE Act, also introduced the End Zuckerbucks Act to “prohibit partisan non-profits from funneling funds to election agencies with zero accountability or transparency,” according to a press release.

“Voting is one of our most sacred rights as Americans, and we must treat it as such. Free and fair elections are key to preserving our self-governing, constitutional republic,” Tenney asserted. “Instead of pushing an overreaching federal election takeover, such as H.R. 1, the ACE Act would institute commonsense reforms, while respecting the primary role of states in administering elections. With confidence in our elections at a record-low, now is the time to undertake these reforms to restore faith in and secure the integrity of our elections.”

The legislation comes months after the Wisconsin Assembly Committee on Campaigns and Elections revealed that Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg spent millions of dollars in the state to elect Joe Biden.

The 45th president called for a full forensic audit “of the $417 million dollars given by Mark Zuckerberg, who used to come to the White House and kiss my ass,” Trump told the crowd during his remarks at CPAC Orlando in February.
