Hunter Biden, the embattled son of Joe Biden, was indicted this week in California on nine tax charges, multiple outlets have reported.

Rep. James Comer, R-Ky., who is serving as the chairman of the House Oversight Committee, issued a statement on the heels of the indictment, writing on X, “The DOJ got caught in its attempt to give Hunter an unprecedented sweetheart plea deal & today’s charges filed against Hunter are the result of IRS whistleblowers who bravely came forward. Americans should applaud these men.”

Since the House began its investigation into the Biden family’s alleged foreign business dealings, Hunter Biden has often fallen into the spotlight for dubious information that was allegedly found on his infamous laptop, suggesting intense drug and sex addiction problems.

According to Newsweek, the tax charges that have been filed against him in California center on money that he allegedly spent on paying for prostitutes, pornography, a sex club membership, hotel stays, expensive vehicles, and more between 2016 and 2019. The indictment alleges that Hunter dodged $1.4 million in taxes, and between all the charges, he could face up to 17 years in prison, the outlet revealed.

This news comes amid questions on whether Hunter Biden will honor a subpoena that was sent to him at the behest of the House Oversight Committee, who is continuing their impeachment inquiry into the Biden family’s alleged business operations overseas.

As reported by RSBN, Hunter may testify on Capitol Hill on Dec. 13 for a closed-door deposition.

However, this new indictment about Hunter sheds light on his life’s seemingly tumultuous personal state. Per Newsweek, Hunter allegedly avoided paying his taxes by claiming that the outrageous luxury items and sex-related services were “business” expenses or deductions. These alleged payments are listed in the indictment, and include expenses like “Various women,” “Educational purposes,” and “Adult entertainment.”

Hunter has had a longstanding public battle with addiction. He is also facing other legal battles in court, including criminal charges relating to alleged illegal gun ownership and drug use, as well as five different civil cases, via RSBN.
