Hunter Biden, the son of Joe Biden, will testify in front of the House Oversight Committee, just weeks after Chairman James Comer, R-Ky., issued subpoenas to members of the Biden family, multiple outlets have reported.

According to NBC News, Hunter will likely testify on Capitol Hill on Dec. 13 for a closed-door deposition as an integral part of House Republicans’ ongoing impeachment inquiry into Joe Biden.

In early November, Rep. Comer issued subpoenas for Hunter, as well as Joe Biden’s younger brother, James Biden. The committee also requested interviews with alleged former Biden associates Tony Bobulinski, Rob Walker, and Beau Biden’s widow, Hallie Biden, and her sister, Elizabeth Secundy, RSBN previously reported.

Hunter has been a focal point of the ongoing House investigations into the Biden family, which include allegations of foreign business dealings with links to places like China and Ukraine.

After subpoenaing the personal bank records of both Hunter Biden and James Biden, Rep. Comer explained that the documents “reveal how the Bidens sold Joe Biden around the world to benefit the Biden family, including Joe Biden himself, to the detriment of U.S. interests.”

Shortly after issuing the subpoenas for the Bidens’ bank records and multiple testimonies, Comer also signed four more subpoenas to bring in four of Hunter Biden’s business associates.

Via RSBN, the four individuals were Mervyn Yan (his gallerist), Eric Schwerin, George Berges, and Elizabeth Naftali (art patron). At least two of those subpoenaed carry alleged links to Hunter Biden’s business with Rosemont Seneca Partners (Schwerin) and Chinese energy company CEFC (Yan).

As it stands right now, Hunter Biden is facing three different legal battles. Per Politico, he is facing charges in a criminal court on the issue of illegal gun ownership and drug usage, and in civil court, he is involved in five different cases. The congressional subpoena for his father’s impeachment inquiry marks the third legal front of Hunter’s legal woes.
