‘I TOOK A BULLET FOR DEMOCRACY’: President Trump speaks out at Grand Rapids rally

by Grace Porter

During his first rally after surviving an assassination attempt just a week earlier, President Trump stood strong at the podium in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

“I took a bullet for democracy,” he powerfully stated to the massive crowd of more than 12,000 people. Visible on his ear was a skin-toned bandage covering the wound inflicted by the bullet that grazed his ear in Butler, Pennsylvania.

The crowd showed President Trump unwavering support during his Grand Rapids rally. Earlier in his speech, they shouted “FIGHT, FIGHT, FIGHT!”

The new chant first broke out at the RNC in honor of the iconic moment that President Trump fist pumped and shouted the now-famous phrase with blood on his face as he was rushed off the stage in Butler.
