Rochelle “Silk” Hardaway Richardson shared a heartwarming tidbit about President Donald Trump’s generosity on Saturday during a celebration of life event in honor of her late sister, Lynette “Diamond” Hardaway.

Diamond passed away suddenly on Jan. 8, 2022, at the age of 51. Her death shocked millions of fans of the show she hosted alongside her sister, “Diamond and Silk: Crystal Clear.”

The two women have been longtime allies of President Trump.

Silk told the audience on Saturday that Trump offered to pick up the tab for the cost of Diamond’s funeral: “When I told him that Diamond had passed, he said, ‘Ohhh.’ He was heartbroken. He said, ‘Okay, we’re going to have a nice gathering for her, a nice funeral.’ And I said, ‘Oh no, we don’t have a body. We followed her wishes, and we cremated her. He said, ‘Okay, I want you to do whatever you want. I want you to have the best of whatever you want, and whatever you want, Diamond would have, and I don’t want you to worry about paying for nothing.’”

On Twitter, Silk commented on a story from the Western Journal that reported on Trump’s move to cover the costs of Diamond’s funeral, remarking, “Wonder if @morningmika, @JoeNBC, @iamwandasykes, @jimmykimmel and @StephenAtHome will say anything about President Trump doing this! Uummm, Probably Not.”

After Diamond passed away, President Trump published a statement regarding her death on Truth Social, lamenting the loss as “bad news for Republicans and frankly, ALL Americans.” He added, “There was no better TEAM anywhere, or at any time! Diamond’s death was totally unexpected, probably her big and precious HEART just plain gave out. Rest In Peace our Magnificent Diamond, you will be greatly missed!”

Trump personally attended Diamond’s celebration of life ceremony on Saturday. He also delivered remarks in her memory.
