The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) is poised to become one of the biggest agencies in the country if Biden signs the “Inflation Reduction Act.”
Per The Washington Free Beacon, the potential expansion of the IRS by 87,000 new employees would exceed the number of people working for the FBI, Border Patrol, State Department, and Pentagon, combined.
Even more disturbingly, screenshots of the job description for IRS special agents show that those interested in the position must be able to “Carry a firearm and be willing to use deadly force, if necessary.”
The Washington Free Beacon reported that the “Inflation Reduction Act” would funnel $80 billion to the IRS to facilitate the hiring of new employees. To put this in perspective, their report noted that the Pentagon, per the Defense Department, has only 27,000 employees.
If the IRS hires 87,000 new employees, that could bring the total number of workers up to more than 160,000 people, approximately.
This news comes just a few weeks after Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., introduced legislation to Congress to disarm the IRS by prohibiting them from continuing to acquire ammunition.
RSBN previously reported that the IRS had spent roughly $725,000 on ammunition in 2022 alone, per Gaetz. Additionally, he pointed out that over the course of ten years, the IRS had reportedly stockpiled a jaw-dropping $11 million dollars worth of ammo.
The IRS’s stockpile of ammunition, in cohesion with its potential expansion, has been a source of deep concern for many Americans. The IRS is possibly the most unpopular agency in the country, and despite the supposed need for new hires, White House Press Secretary Karrine Jean-Pierre contradicted this need in a recent statement.
She told White House reporters that there would be no new audits for anyone in the U.S. who made less than $400,000 per year, which begs the question: what are the new IRS agents being hired to do if new audits are off the table?
