Vice President J.D. Vance spoke on Thursday morning at CPAC, where he delivered a bit of faith-based advice to a young and upcoming generation of American men.
“My message to young men is don’t allow this broken culture to send you a message that you’re a bad person because you’re a man, because you like to tell a joke, because you like to have a beer with your friends, or because you’re competitive,” he said.
Vance continued, “The cultural message – and I think the president’s and mine is the exact opposite – but our cultural message is, I think that it wants to turn everybody, whether male or female, into androgynous idiots who think the same, talk the same, and act the same.”
The vice president’s comments come amid this administration’s hard pushback on Biden-era policies that elevated things like gender fluidity, transgenderism, and males competing in women’s sports.
President Trump, for example, recently signed an executive order banning male athletes from competing in women’s sports in the United States. “It’s going to END…and nobody’s going to do a damn thing about it because when we speak, we speak with AUTHORITY,” the president said during a signing ceremony in early February.
In his comments on Thursday, the vice president explained, “We actually think God made male and female for a purpose, and we want you guys to thrive as young men, and as young women. And we’re going to help with our public policy to make it possible to do that.”
Upon taking office, President Trump signed an order making it the official policy of the U.S. federal government to recognize only two genders: male and female. The order, “Defending Women from Gender Ideology Extremism and Restoring Biological Truth to the Federal Government,” was signed on January 22, 2025, and terminated the attacks on biological realities surrounding sex.
