Julie Kelly, host of “Declassified with Julie Kelly,” delivered a speech displaying the political inconsistencies of the Biden administration’s Department of Justice, particularly in their treatment of Jan. 6 protestors.
She asked, “What world leader recently took the stage to address his countrymen to brag about the number of political dissidents that he and his regime have rounded up over the past few years?”
She continued, asking the audience which world leader bragged about convicting over 1,000 of these political dissidents and the sentencing that has been handed down to these prisoners.
The audience automatically knew the answer was Joe Biden, and voiced that.
Kelly stated, “Now just imagine for a moment if that had been a world leader from any other country, who had taken the stage and bragged and boasted about incarcerating people who protested against him more than three years ago.”
She claimed, “There would be international outrage, like we’ve seen in the past week or so,” referencing the shocking news of Alexei Navalny’s death in a Russian penal colony after he opposed Putin, per Reuters.
“There would be condemnations from the UN… from Amnesty International,” Kelly went on. “Instead, when Joe Biden spoke those words on the three year anniversary of January 6th, at Valley Forge, no less, he was greeted with applause from those people in the audience.”
She called out the hypocrisy of those same people who are now presumably grieving over Navalny’s death.
Like some of the Jan. 6 prisoners, Navalny was a journalist who some believe was a victim of political persecution. Kelly noted that Biden has arrested 1,200 Americans, and the political persecution does not end there.
“The U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia, Matthew Graves, who is a Biden appointee, is on pace this year to arrest a January sixth protester every day,” she added.
So far, 1,315 Jan. 6 prisoners are being criminally prosecuted. Kelly alleged that Graves is seeking to increase that number to 2,000 by the end of the year. She also noted the 100 percent conviction rate of Jan. 6 defendants.
She further explained that after over 100 trials in two years not one defendant has been fully acquitted. She blamed the political bias of the Democrat voters serving in jury trials.
Kelly stated, “Federal judges of both parties in Washington continue to deny change of venue motions for January 6th defendants.”
She noted the massive number of trials going on over Jan 6 to this day and joked, “I often wonder what did these judges do before Jan 6th?”
While America First supporters continue to question the motives of these trials, they display the questionable cases against President Donald Trump.
She decried the likelihood that President Trump will be on trial during the 2024 presidential election. Kelly also pointed out that the DOJ is supposed to avoid pursuing political trials before an election, but that these cases are not being handled as per usual.
She questioned the nature of the classified documents trial, but also reminded conservatives to have hope. The most common charge against Jan 6 defendants is “obstruction of an officials proceeding 1512 C12.”
Kelly noted that this precedent was originally set regarding the handling of document shredding, not public protests. The Supreme Court will be hearing arguments to reverse the DOJs “weaponization” of this law against Jan 6 defendants, and if this is reversed it also weakens Jack Smith’s case against Trump in Washington.
