Actor Jim Caviezel, best known for his iconic role as Jesus Christ in the 2004 movie The Passion Of The Christ, has sent out a warning that Christianity in America is under attack. Caviezel blames this on moral decay.

Caviezel told Fox News what he thought about Christianity in America recently. He said, “The problem is that modern day Christianity has become so weak and useless.”

Caviezel explained further what he meant by calling the faith weak, “I mean, modern day Christians are more afraid of the devil than they are of God. God could destroy the devil without a glance, but he looks to us to make a decision.”

The actor also explained what this means for America. Caviezel elaborated, “So, you have moral depravity. I mean, moral decay everywhere, falling apart.” The actor likened this moral decay to a lack of laws.

He added, “Laws don’t mean anything anymore. We don’t have a First Amendment… There’s no such thing as free speech anymore.”

This warning rings true when looking at recent events, like the Nashville shooting at Covenant School in March this year, an attack on a Christian school.

President Trump commented on the tragedy and the growing hostility to Christianity in America. RSBN reported what the 45th president said, “The Marxism being preached in our schools is also totally hostile to Judeo-Christian teachings, and in many ways, it’s resembling an established new religion.”

Caviezel isn’t the only celebrity to voice their concern over the retreat of Christianity in American society. In a tweet via the Daily Mail, addressing the portrayal of a villain as a preacher in the TV series The Last of Us, actor Rainn Wilson wrote, “I do think there is an anti-Christian bias in Hollywood.”

In an interview with Fox News, Arielle Del Turco, who is assistant director of the Center for Religious Liberty at the Family Research Council (FRC), said, “I think it’s just a rise in secularism in the United States.” Turco is referring to the status quo in America under the Biden administration and the “wokeness” that is sweeping the country.
