‘Kamala doesn’t care’: Trump rips Harris for putting Americans last following Hurricane Helene

As communities in flood-stricken Georgia are reeling from the devastation left in the wake of Hurricane Helene, Vice President Kamala Harris made a stop in the state to offer a mere $750 per person in aid after blowing FEMA money on illegals.

Last weekend, Hurricane Helene blew through the Southeast, becoming one of the deadliest storms in U.S. history. In places like North Carolina, the death toll has risen to over 130, according to AP News, and the FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) aid that millions of survivors were hoping to receive appears to fall dismally short.

President Donald Trump’s campaign reported that the Democrat had visited the state days after Trump had already arrived to deliver supplies and support, and all she brought was “good luck” and $750 for immediate needs.

According to the Federalist, the Biden-Harris administration used FEMA disaster funding for illegal immigrants, leaving American citizens in desperate need of funding. The program, which is called the Shelter and Services Program, was allocated $650 million in 2024 to provide “humanitarian services to noncitizen migrants following their release from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).”

The Trump campaign wrote, “Kamala doesn’t care that illegal aliens get the red carpet treatment while American citizens — whose lives and livelihoods have been completely destroyed — get peanuts.”

The campaign also pointed out that the trip to Georgia was more of a photo op for Harris than anything else, and Federalist senior editor John Davidson agreed, saying it was a “staged photo pretending to work on the disaster response (earbuds not even plugged into the phone, taking notes on a blank piece of paper), together with the absence of FEMA.”

According to the Trump campaign, Harris’ actions make one thing very clear: Harris will always put the American people last.

Trump shared his thoughts about the Biden-Harris response to the crisis and wrote on Truth Social, “Kamala and Sleepy Joe are universally being given POOR GRADES for the way that they are handling the Hurricane, especially in North Carolina. It is going down as the WORST & MOST INCOMPETENTLY MANAGED “STORM,” AT THE FEDERAL LEVEL.”
