America First Senate candidate Kari Lake won the Republican primary in Arizona on Tuesday night. She celebrated the news, posting her acceptance and acknowledging her opponent.
In a clip she shared on X, she noted, “I hate to call him my opponent; he’s my friend.”
She noted her appreciation of Pinal County Sheriff Mark Lamb, who ran against her. She praised him for running “a great campaign” and recalled how, during their May debate, he refused to “hit below the belt.”
“I know we both want to save America, and I look forward to working with you,” Lake added. “Thank you, Mark.”
According to the New York Post, the race was called for Lake less than an hour after polls closed.
She also recognized President Donald Trump in her victory speech, stating, “It’s not about one man. He can’t do this alone. He needs backup in Washington DC,” per the New York Post.
“President Trump, I’ve got your six!” she added.
The 45th president joined her in celebrating this victory by sharing the news in a post to Truth Social.
