Kyle Rittenhouse detailed his meeting with President Donald Trump on Wednesday after his acquittal in November.

“Well, it was really nice meeting Trump at Mar-a-Lago,” Rittenhouse said of his meeting with the 45th president. “We just had a regular conversation.”

Describing the lighthearted nature of their meeting, Rittenhouse said, “We had some of the best cheeseburgers I’ve ever had at Mar-a-Lago — definitely 10 out of 10.”

Rittenhouse’s main takeaway from the meeting, however, was more serious. “He supported me from day one, and Trump was right,” said 18-year-old.

Rittenhouse was found not guilty on all charges for fatally shooting two men in self-defense during the Kenosha riots. His case attracted national media coverage when Democrat politicians and liberal outlets attempted to portray him as a dangerous criminal. Many conservatives saw his acquittal as symbolic for upholding the foundational American freedoms to bear arms and act in self-defense.

After his tremendous victory in court, Rittenhouse met with the 45th president in Mar-a-Lago in November. After meeting with Rittenhouse, Trump said, “Kyle, I got to know him a little bit. He called. He wanted to know if he could come over and say hello because he was a fan, unlike the other guy.”

Trump described Rittenhouse as “really a nice young man” and stated “he should never have been put through that. That was prosecutorial misconduct.”

After receiving news of his innocence, Trump wrote, “If that’s not self-defense, nothing is.”

After defending his innocence, Rittenhouse committed to hold the media accountable for their role in his case. Rittenhouse started The Media Accountability Project to fight back against the Fake News media and hold them responsible for their defamatory claims. His goal is to “hold the worst offenders in our media accountable in court.”

Rittenhouse has stated, “I want to hold them accountable for what they did to me because I don’t want to see anybody have to go through what I went through.”

While the legal battle Rittenhouse faced was long and bitter, it is clear from the details he has presented that he found a key ally and supporter in Trump. Now, he is following Trump’s lead and leading the charge against the corrupt media.
