Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., revealed details about President Donald Trump’s potential running mate picks during a new interview, including surprising comments on whether Joe Biden will continue his campaign.

Graham shared the information during a Sunday interview on CBS News’ “Face the Nation.”

“Now, I believe, before this is all said and done, that President Biden most likely will be replaced,” he stated.

“And Kamala Harris is going to be very vigorous, but she’s for the Green New Deal. She’s for Medicare for All. She’s more like Bernie Sanders on policy,” he added.

Graham then discussed the three contenders who have been most noted as potential Trump running mates.

“Well, there’s three people being talked about, Burgum, solid as a rock in North Dakota. J.D. Vance would be – is aligned with President Trump in many ways. He could be a good wingman. Can he expand the map?” the South Carolina senator asked.

“Marco Rubio, you got a problem in Florida. I think he’s a very articulate conservative that could help President Trump enormously,” he said.

Graham offered a surprising take on one additional running mate option, Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin.

“But somebody’s not being talked about that should be, in my view, is [Virginia Governor Glenn] Youngkin from Virginia. If we win Virginia, we win. It is over,” he argued.

“So I’m hoping President Trump is looking for a V.P. pick that not only can carry on the American first agenda after he leaves, but also win in 2024,” Graham continued.

The notable interview follows Biden’s pre-recorded interview with ABC News anchor George Stephanopoulos that aired Friday. Biden blamed his weak debate performance on exhaustion and a cold.

Graham’s interview also called for Biden to take a cognitive test to determine whether he remains fit to serve as the nation’s commander-in-chief.

“I’m offended by the idea that he shouldn’t take a competency test, given all the evidence in front of us,” Graham said. “He is not only in denial, this is a dangerous time for the American people to have somebody … leading the ship who seems to be compromised.”

Graham’s proposal would include cognitive testing for nominees and leaders in the presidential line of succession. The individuals involved would include Biden, Trump, Harris, House Speaker Mike Johnson, President Pro Tempore of the Senate Patty Murray, and could potentially extend to cabinet members.
