President Donald Trump had a some fun on Saturday in Newton, Iowa, where he delivered remarks at a rally just a little over one week away from the important Iowa caucuses.
Trump encouraged voter turnout in the Hawkeye State, urging caucus-goers away from allowing his dominating poll numbers to lull them into passivity. Trump said that caucusing could be “fun.”
“It’s actually fun, you meet great people…who knows, if you’re not married, maybe you’ll meet somebody, the love of your life,” he joked.
Trump continued, “’You’ll say, ‘He was the greatest president, I met the love of my LIFE! I was caucusing, and I met some beautiful guy, or some beautiful…woman.’”
President Trump explained earlier in his remarks, “Don’t go by the polls…we have to get out there, every one of us have to get out there – it really sends a message for November!”
The president is currently the dominating frontrunner in GOP presidential polling in the state of Iowa.
