It was a great night in Ohio for MAGA, as President Trump and two critical Republican candidates all secured victories in the state’s primary election. Trump easily sailed to victory, adding 79 more delegates to his running total.

Trump-endorsed United States Senate candidate Bernie Moreno trounced Matt Dolan by over 17 percentage points, marking an important MAGA Republican primary victory. He will face long-time Democratic Senator Sherrod Brown in November. If Moreno prevails, Republicans could regain control of the Senate.

Moreno gave a fiery speech after his victory, where he highlighted the MAGA policies he plans to bring with him to the Senate. He thanked President Trump for supporting his campaign and applauded him for his “love of this country,” stating, “I don’t think I’ve ever seen somebody who loves this country the way he does.”

Another significant victory was Trump-endorsed Derek Merrin’s defeat of Craig Reidel for the Republican nomination to represent Ohio’s 9th Congressional District. He will challenge Democratic Rep. Marcy Kaptur in the general election. Kaptur has held the seat since 1983, making her the longest-serving woman in the United States Congress.

Although Kaptur is an economic populist, Merrin could win the seat by riding President Trump’s coattails on the ballot. According to the Washington Examiner, Merrin was recruited by House Speaker Mike Johnson last December. Republicans hold a small majority in the lower chamber but are determined to keep control and gain more seats.
