President Donald Trump has not been shy about his intention to debate Joe Biden as the general election approaches in November, but it remains unclear if Biden is up to the challenge.
On Truth Social, Trump said that it was “TIME” to debate, reiterating his previous offer that he would be willing to face off with Biden “ANYTIME, ANYWHERE, ANYPLACE!”
He wrote, “IT’S TIME FOR CROOKED JOE BIDEN AND I TO DEBATE – WE OWE IT TO OUR COUNTRY. ANYTIME, ANYWHERE, ANYPLACE!”
The president definitively locked up the GOP nomination last week after soaring primary wins in Mississippi, Washington state, and Georgia, securing more than the 1,215 delegates needed to seize victory.
At this point, he and Biden are due to face off at the ballot box in November, and many Americans are wondering if Biden even has what it takes to stand on a debate stage and spar with the 45th president.
Last week, President Trump explained, “For the good of our now failing Nation, and in order to inform the American people of what is going on in our Country, we must immediately have a full scale debate between Crooked Joe and Honest Don. I’m ready to go, ANY TIME, ANY PLACE!”
Trump has brought this to the attention of the Commission on Presidential Debates, but nothing has been announced so far in terms of whether a general election debate between the two men will take place.
This year’s 2024 election cycle has certainly been unorthodox, and Trump has become the first Republican in history to win the party’s nomination three times consecutively. It also comes amid serious questions regarding Joe Biden’s alleged cognitive decline and what seems to be plummeting physical stamina.
Per RSBN, Biden has not said whether he will debate Trump or not. Instead, he gave the press an ambiguous response on the issue, stating that his decision to debate “depends on his behavior,” referring to Trump.
