Joe Biden has lost a fair amount of support from many people, including Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk, and now, action star and WWE legend Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has admitted that he regrets endorsing Biden in 2020.
During an interview with Fox News, Johnson explained, “The endorsement that I made years ago with Biden was one I thought was the best decision for me at that time…I thought back then when we talk about, ‘Hey, I’m in this position, where I have some influence, and it’s my job then.’ I felt like that then.”
He continued, “I feel like it’s my job now to exercise my influence…am I going to do that again this year? That answer’s no.”
The WWE celebrity also shared he was not happy with the state of America right now. He said, “Do I believe we’re going to get better? I believe in that, I’m an optimistic guy, I believe we can get better.”
In 2020, Johnson publicly put his support between Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, stating, “In this critical election, I believe Joe Biden and Kamala Harris are the best to lead our country, and as my first ever (public) Presidential endorsement, I proudly endorse them for the presidential office of our United States.”
Johnson’s interview with Fox indicates that he has changed his tune, although it is unclear if he plans on making his support for any presidential candidate public in 2024.
Earlier this year, he dipped his toes into a political conversation with Fox News yet again, in which Trump’s frequent presence at UFC fights and his history with the WWE came up.
“How about that ovation he gets, though, when he comes out?” Johnson remarked in the interview.
Johnson recently inked a new promotional deal with WWE, and he was also recently named to the board of directors in 2024, per Sportico.
