MyPillow CEO and election integrity advocate, Mike Lindell, announced last weekend at a Save America rally in Minden, Nevada, that he is subpoenaing retired Lt. Gen. James Clapper and former CIA Director John Brennan in his lawsuit against the FBI and the U.S. government. Clapper is also the former director of the DIA.
Lindell’s lawsuit against the bureau comes on the heels of the FBI’s seizure of his personal cell phone in a Hardee’s drive-thru in Minnesota, as previously reported by RSBN.
“This will be a process because, we also yesterday… subpoenaed Brennan, Clapper, a guy named Baker…so, we subpoenaed them in this case,” he told a crowd of MAGA rallygoers on Saturday.
He continued, “But now that we have these released – there’s other names too, but I don’t want to get them wrong in case they didn’t get subpoenaed…it’s a process that we’re gonna take.”
He added that the lawsuit would accomplish the following:
“It should for sure get rid of what started on…February 4th, the day Smartmatic sued Fox News and started what was called lawfare in this country. It had never been done since 1798 in our country,” he stated.
Lindell was likely referring to the Sedition Act of 1798, which threatened deportation, fines, or even imprisonment to anyone accused of slandering or making false statements about the U.S. government, per the U.S. House of Representatives. The act was the first true test of First Amendment rights in America and was extremely unpopular. In 1801, with the presidency of Thomas Jefferson, the Sedition Act was allowed to expire.
The MyPillow founder further joked with the crowd that they should use “promo code ‘FBI’ this week” on his website.
As previously reported by RSBN, Lindell’s lawsuit is predicated on his allegations that the FBI violated his First, Fourth, and Fifth Amendment rights when agents seized his phone. “We’re not gonna put up with this,” he told “War Room” host Steve Bannon in September. “We’re not gonna be the Gestapo, like in Nazi Germany.”
