Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., fired off a warning for Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis amidst a string of bombshell allegations that have come to light over the past few weeks.
Rep. Greene wrote on X on Monday, “Fani Willis better go ahead and resign. This is about to get a lot worse for her.”
Her comment on X came in response to an allegation posted by a popular lawyer-based X account called “Techno Fog.” This account posted information about Willis’s relationship with a prosecutor she hired to prosecute Donald Trump, a man named Nathan Wade.
Last week, Willis confirmed her relationship with Wade in a court filing. According to The New York Times, Mr. Wade stated that he developed a relationship with Willis in 2022, but claimed that she received no “personal financial gain from my position as Special Prosecutor.”
Techno Fog seemed to suggest that it was possible that the relationship between Willis and Wade began before he started working for the DA’s office. This has also been suggested by former Trump campaign official Michael Roman, who filed the original motion in Georgia to disqualify Willis and Wade from the president’s election-related case in the Peach State.
However, Wade has denied that he was in a relationship with Willis before 2022, and he has also denied that he and Willis ever cohabitated.
Willis is now facing a slew of obstacles in leading the case against Trump in Georgia. Per RSBN, she received a congressional subpoena last week related to the use of federal grant funding. She was also hit with 22 articles of impeachment in Georgia state legislature, based on the allegations that have arisen about her possible improper relationship with Nathan Wade.
At this time, the election case against Trump is tentatively scheduled for an August 2024 start date, but this could change depending on whether Willis is still spearheading the case at that time.
