Rep. Thomas Massie, R-Ky., blew the lid off another shocking piece of information linked to the events of Jan. 6, 2021, when he asked the former chairman of the Jan. 6 Committee about text messages that were allegedly deleted by the U.S. Secret Service.

“Secret Service deleted texts from J6 and destroyed their phones AFTER being told by Congress to preserve them,” he wrote on X.

In a video clip posted to his X feed, Rep. Massie is seen asking Rep. Bennie Thompson, D-Miss., who served as the chairman of the Jan. 6 Committee, a series of questions related to the committee’s investigation. The questions were levied at a House Rules Committee meeting on Monday.

“Is it true that the Secret Service cell phone records were deleted for that day, on January 6th?” Massie asked.

Thompson replied, “I’m not certain that all of them – we had difficulties with getting some of them.”

Massie continued, “Was your investigation hindered, in part, by the deletion of those Secret Service text messages?”

Thompson answered, “We could have had a better and more thorough report had we had access to all those records.”

Thompson said that the committee discovered the deletion of those records during their investigation and confirmed that the Department of Homeland Security’s serving secretary at that time was Alejandro Mayorkas.

Massie read what he said was a statement made by both Thompson and former Wyoming Rep. Liz Cheney (R), in which it was alleged that the Secret Service phone records were deleted even after they were made aware that Congress needed access to them.

There was also a mention of the actions to delete such records as “contrary to federal records retention requirement and may represent a possible violation of the Federal Records Act.”

Massie pressed Rep. Thompson on whether there was a violation of the FRA, and he stated, “Yes.”

He also stated that he believed the records were deleted “when President Trump was in office.”

On X, Massie stated that this behavior constituted “Obstruction of Congress” under Mayorkas’s watch at the DHS.

This latest revelation in the ongoing Jan. 6 political saga comes in the wake of another Jan. 6 bombshell that broke on Monday.

A PBS documentary clip went viral for comments that suggested that the Jan. 6 Committee itself was a fabricated production, based on questionable statements from people like former Illinois Rep. Adam Kinzinger and former ABC News President James Goldston, RSBN reported.
