In the wake of the impeachment of Secretary Mayorkas by the House, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., sent a strong message to the Senate.
RSBN reported that Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas was impeached on Tuesday night with a one-vote lead. This historic impeachment marks a huge win for America and for Greene.
According to The Hill, Greene feels she “absolutely” deserves some credit for this win because she was the person who forced the floor vote in November 2023 after her first effort to impeach Mayorkas was initially blocked by House lawmakers.
In an interview with The Hill, Greene reflected on this huge win and said it was “because I forced that floor vote back in November and told them I was going to do it over and over again until this was taken seriously.”
After months of hard work, Greene told reporters that she is “very thankful to our Republican conference for finally working together and standing with the American people.”
Greene adds that this historic win sends a strong message to the Biden administration that “it’s our border that matters. Not other countries’ borders. Our border matters.” Greene is referring to the controversial $95 billion foreign aid bill passed by the U.S. Senate while the current border crisis is being ignored.
In a message to the U.S. Senate, Greene added, “My message to the Senate is that they should look at the polling. They know that our border security is the number one issue in every single campaign, in every single state, in every single city and every single community.”
Current illegal crossings have reached historic records. In January alone, the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) reported that they recorded 124,220 encounters along the Southwest border.
Greene warned, “They better pay attention to the American people and how they feel.”
