Elon Musk, the billionaire CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, commented on the Biden administration’s freshly minted Disinformation Governance Board, an Orwellian censorship board kick-started under the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

In response to a tweet from Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton explaining why “Ministry of Truth,” a nickname for the board, is trending, Elon Musk remarked, “This is messed up.”

After weeks of intense speculation, Musk closed a deal to acquire Twitter for $44 billion on Monday. Since the news broke, Musk’s promise to “unlock” the potential of Twitter and revitalize free speech on the platform has been met with harsh criticism from far-left opponents who would rather see Twitter engage in strict censorship policies and regulations.

Musk additionally commented on Twitter, “The far left hates everyone, themselves included!” He added, “But I’m no fan of the far right either. Let’s have less hate and more love.”

The Biden administration announced the creation of the Disinformation Governance Board this week, seemingly in response to the news that Musk had purchased Twitter. Conservative talk show host Tucker Carlson shared a video clip of the woman tapped to head the board, Nina Jankowicz, on Fox News this week.

In the clip, Jankowicz is seen lip-synching to a song about misinformation and censorship.

The NY Post compares the Big Brother described in George Orwell’s novel “1984” and the Disinformation Board.

Lara Trump weighed in on the situation during an interview on “Fox & Friends First.” “Obviously, this whole thing is very concerning,” she said. “If you care about the United States of America and our First Amendment rights, our freedoms of speech, this is such a concerning spot to find ourselves in, in America.”

Elon Musk has become a hero for proponents of free speech. Musk himself stated on Tuesday, “The extreme antibody reaction from those who fear free speech says it all.” He continued, “By ‘free speech,’ I simply mean that which matches the law. I am against censorship that goes far beyond the law. If people want less free speech, they will ask the government to pass laws to that effect. Therefore, going beyond the law is contrary to the will of the people.”
