New York Supreme Court strikes down mask mandate

New York Supreme Court Justice Thomas Rademaker has struck down the state’s mask mandate, including masking requirements for businesses and schools, in an epic win for proponents of individual liberty.

On Monday, Justice Rademaker called the mask mandate in New York “unconstitutional” and further said that it was “null, void, and unenforceable,” as reported by Disclose TV on Twitter.

The mask mandate, which was imposed by New York Gov. Kathy Hochul, is no longer in effect, and New Yorkers can now enter indoor public spaces without covering their mouths with a cloth or paper face mask.

According to ABC7NY correspondent Kristin Thorne, Gov. Hochul responded to the ruling – and the defeat of her tyrannical mask mandate – in an official statement: “We strongly disagree with this ruling,” she said, “and we are pursuing every option to reverse this immediately.”

The New York court system is not the first to strike down unconstitutional mandates related to the pandemic. In January, the Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS), struck down one of Biden’s proposed federal vaccine mandates for businesses in a stunning 6-3 vote.

Likewise, many other states and countries are pulling back on Covid restrictions since SCOTUS’ ruling. As previously reported by RSBN, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson recently announced that vaccine passports and mask mandates would be dropped immediately. Additionally, several other countries have followed suit, including the Czech Republic, Denmark, Thailand, France, and Northern Ireland.

Further, many private companies in the United States have ceased implementation of vaccine mandates after SCOTUS struck down Biden’s vaccine mandate, setting a precedent that bodily autonomy and freedom of medical choice is essential to American liberty. General Electric and Starbucks are just two major corporations who have recently announced that they will be shelving vaccine mandates this month.

New York’s strong move to legally strike down the mask mandate in a progressive state is a strong sign that mandates of any kind have no place in American society, and that individual liberty is making a big comeback in 2022.
