President Trump received the official endorsement of the National Rifle Association (NRA) on Saturday evening in Dallas, Texas, where he headlined the 153rd Annual NRA Meeting.
The endorsement was announced by NRA Chairman Randy Kozuch, who took the stage just before the 45th president and explained the association’s reasons for throwing their strong support behind Trump.
He said, “Together, we stand as beacons of light defending the Second Amendment and all of the values that define our country. We’re not just spectators, we’re the torchbearers for freedom, liberty, and justice…from the plains of Wyoming to the shores of Virginia, your dedication fuels our cause, keeping the lamp of liberty burning bright.”
Kozuch added, “There is only ONE man who stands with us, a man who understands that the flame of liberty does not come from the halls of Washington, D.C., but thrives in the heartland of America. That man is Donald J. Trump.”
He continued, “Our NRA political victory fund endorsement today is a battle cry. It is a pledge to fight with everything we have for the rights we have in the Second Amendment…do we stand together in this fight together? Yes we do!”
He described Trump as being the “man in the arena” and called him the “greatest defender of the Second Amendment of our lifetime, Donald Trump.”
He noted that it was an “honor” to announce their endorsement of the 45th and “soon to be 47th President of the United States, Donald Trump!”
