Absentee and mail-in ballots in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, were slated to be recounted on Election Day following the discovery of tabulating concerns.
CBS News reported in a post to X, “Officials are restarting the count of about 31,000 early voting and mail-in ballots in Milwaukee, Wisconsin ‘out of an abundance of caution,’ due to an issue with ballot tabulators.”
“Officials say they may now not finish counting until Wednesday morning,” the network’s reporter Janet Shamlian added, claiming that, “There’s no wrongdoing at this time.”
Local Fox 6 News anchor Sam Kraemer commented that, “Each of the 13 high-speed tabulators here at Central Count had an open door.”
“Officials aren’t sure how that happened,” he went on. “They will zero out the machines & start again.”
The President of the political watchdog group Judicial Watch, Tom Fitton, also posted about the situation. He wrote that their “election observers” are present and investigating the situation.
