A new survey suggests that with midterm elections two months away, Florida continues to trend towards a red wave.

According to the latest poll by Susquehanna Polling and Research, which surveyed 500 likely voters in the Sunshine State from Aug. 29 through Sept. 3, most voters would vote for Gov. Ron DeSantis and Sen. Marco Rubio if the election were held today.

When asked who voters would cast their ballots in favor of in the race for the U.S. Senate, Rubio received the majority of support at 47 percent. His Democrat opponent, Val Demings, trailed behind at 44 percent. Eight percent indicated they were unsure.

Similarly, a plurality of voters, 47 percent, said they would vote for DeSantis over his Democrat challenger Charlie Crist, who garnered 43 percent.

The Florida governor also received the highest favorability rating among all four contenders at 50 percent. Crist’s unfavorably rating, 48 percent, is currently sitting higher than his 35 percent favorability.

As Republican voters surpass Democrats for the first time in the state’s history, many are predicting a sizeable red wave to hit in November’s election.

As RSBN reported, the Republican Party of Florida has gained 71,046 voters year-to-date since 2021, while Democrats lost roughly 116,767 voters in the same timeframe. Republican voter registrations also outpaced Democrats by over 100,000 in March, primarily attributed to DeSantis’s unmatched leadership in the state.

Florida Republican Party Executive Director Helen Aguirre Ferré commented on the milestone, echoing similar sentiments.

“There’s no beating around the fact this historic gain is because of Governor Ron DeSantis,” Ferré told Fox News Digital. “Florida voters are appreciative of the palpable sense of freedom he has created in our state.”

The Ron DeSantis campaign this week released their latest reelection ad titled “Results,” showcasing Floridians’ support and gratitude for the governor and his policies, especially during nationwide lockdowns.
