According to a new poll from Rasmussen Reports, most U.S. voters today (63 percent) believe that the media-propagated narrative that accused Trump of Russian collusion was a political “hit job” that was orchestrated by the Clinton campaign in 2016.

Additionally, 59 percent of likely U.S. voters believe that FBI officials who were involved in pushing the debunked Russia-Trump collusion narrative should be legally prosecuted.

Interestingly, most Democrats also agreed that the Russia collusion claims made against Trump were a hit job orchestrated by the Clinton campaign, with 32 percent of Democrats “strongly” agreeing with that sentiment and 13 percent “somewhat” agreeing.

Democrats were also asked if the FBI officials who were caught amplifying the false Russia-Trump story should be prosecuted. 45 percent said yes, while 33 percent said no. 23 percent said that they were “not sure.”

Rasmussen’s findings come on the heels of the release of the final Durham report in May, which dropped massive findings about the collusion that took place between federal agencies, the media, and even the Clinton campaign when it came to promulgating the false narrative that Trump had colluded with Russian entities to somehow rig the 2016 presidential election.

President Trump commented on the report on Truth Social, writing, “THEY ARE SCUM, LIKE COCKROACHES ALL OVER WASHINGTON, D.C. Congratulations to John Durham on a Report that is being praised for its quality, importance, and professionalism, by friend and foe alike!”

Perhaps the most damaging conclusion from John Durham’s report was that the “government possessed no verified intelligence reflecting that Trump or the Trump campaign was involved in a conspiracy or collaborative relationship with officials of the Russian government.”

Despite the lack of evidence behind their claims, the FBI’s Crossfire Hurricane investigation was nevertheless launched.
