Americans’ trust in the nation’s highest law enforcement agency is at an all-time low, according to recent polling that indicates they believe that the FBI is actively covering up the alleged crimes of the Biden family.
The latest poll from Rasmussen Reports found that 60 percent of likely voters believe that FBI officials have helped cover up the crimes of Joe Biden, while just 16 percent say a cover-up is “Not At All Likely.”
The June survey, comprised of 999 U.S. Likely Voters, reported that 48 percent believe that it’s “Very Likely” that the FBI participated in a cover-up, with 33 percent who said a cover-up was just “Likely.”
It is no surprise Americans are losing faith in the agency. From canceling those who discussed the Hunter Biden laptop story during the 2020 presidential election, or investigating parents who questioned their school board’s curriculum, the FBI has continued to find itself in the middle of scandals in recent years.
Most recently, the House Oversight Committee reported that they would push contempt of Congress charges against FBI Director Christopher Wray for failing to adhere to a subpoena from the committee, causing many to believe the bureau is behest acting in the defense of the Biden administration.
Rep. James Comer, R-Ky., acting chairman of the committee, announced that they would push charges against Wray, who failed to produce a document linked to Joe Biden’s alleged bribery scheme.
“I am drafting legislation to hold FBI Director Wray in contempt of Congress,” Comer tweeted on Thursday, June 1.
He continued, “@GOPoversight will vote on this next week if the FBI continues to defy my lawful subpoena. The FBI is not above Congress. I will protect congressional oversight authorities.”
The House Oversight Committee will reportedly vote upon contempt charges on Thursday, June 8.
As previously reported by RSBN, the document in question is an FD-1023 form, which includes communications between confidential sources and FBI agents. Wray confirmed the existence of the form, which accuses Biden of criminal bribery, earlier this month after a long struggle with the Oversight Committee.
However, Comer and Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, said they were approached by a confidential informant in possession of the FD-1023 form that accused Joe Biden, while serving as vice president, of participating in a multi-million dollar bribery scheme with foreign nationals in exchange for influence.
As reported by Fox News Digital, the “highly credible” source involved has been involved in multiple investigative matters since the Obama administration, but is fearful of being killed should their identity be revealed.
“Just left meeting for House Oversight,” Oversight Committee member Rep. Anna Paulina Luna, R-Fla., tweeted Monday.
“The @FBI is afraid their informant will be killed if unmasked, based on the info he has brought forward about the Biden family,” she added following a closed briefing by the FBI for the Oversight Committee.
Comer subpoenaed the FD-1023 in May, but the FBI refused to comply with the order. The committee chairman said that he would begin holding Wray in contempt following the FBI’s decision and being briefed by the bureau on the document that accuses Biden of taking part in illegal activity.
