President Donald Trump announced his appointment of Georgia Republican state Sen. Brandon Beach as Treasurer of the United States.
Trump shared the news in a Truth Social post on Wednesday.
“I am pleased to announce the appointment of Brandon Beach as the next Treasurer of the United States. Brandon helped us secure a Massive and Historic Victory for our Movement in the Great State of Georgia, and has been doing an incredible job in the Georgia State Senate since 2012,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
“As our next Treasurer, Brandon will uphold the Values of Fiscal Responsibility, Economic Growth, and help unleash America’s Golden Age. Congratulations Brandon!” he added.
A graduate of Centenary College of Louisiana and the Louisiana Frost School of Business, Beach was honored with the Legislator of the Year Award by the Georgia Chamber of Commerce in 2017 and received the Emerging Leader Award from GOPAC Inc. in April 2023, Fox News reported.
In addition to his legislative work, he holds the positions of president and CEO at both the Greater North Fulton Chamber of Commerce and the North Fulton Community Improvement District.
During his tenure, the district allocated over $2 million, which helped secure $30 million in new infrastructure for the region, as reported by the Georgia Department of Economic Development.
Beach, 63, currently serves District 21, representing parts of Cherokee and Fulton counties in North Georgia. As an appointed position, the role of treasurer does not require confirmation from the U.S. Senate.
Trump also announced on Wednesday the nomination of Brent Bozell as the next United States Ambassador to South Africa.
“Brent is the Founder of the Media Research Center, which has exposed Fake News hypocrites for many years. Brent brings fearless tenacity, extraordinary experience, and vast knowledge to a Nation that desperately needs it. Congratulations Brent!” Trump wrote.
Before establishing the MRC, Bozell held the role of president at both the National Conservative Political Action Committee and the National Conservative Foundation. He also serves as chairman of ForAmerica, an organization dedicated to upholding America’s founding principles.
