President Trump is taking aim at The New York Times for allegedly misreporting the status of his lawsuit with Harvard University. In a pair of Truth Social posts on Tuesday, Trump unleashed a series of attacks against the publication for what he described as misreporting on the status of the case.
“The Failing New York Times story was completely wrong concerning Harvard University,” President Trump said. “I hereby demand that the morons that run (into the ground!) the Times’ change their story, immediately.”
The New York Times published a story on Monday, claiming the administration had dropped its demand for a $200 million payment from Harvard. In his response, Trump cited an earlier post in which he clarified that his administration would seek $1 billion in damages from Harvard. He also continued his criticism of the publication’s coverage of the 2024 presidential election, which is the subject of a separate defamation suit brought by Trump.
“SEE TRUTH BELOW! Also, just like their incorrectly called (by the Times!) Election results, where they got it ALL WRONG, my Poll Numbers are Great!” President Trump said. “The New York Times coverage of me is so purposely wrong. We will soon see how I do in my lawsuit against these fraudsters! FAKE NEWS!”
Trump followed up on his initial comment with another post criticizing The New York Times for failing to clarify its story and accusing the publication of displaying an overall left-wing bias.
“Why hasn’t the Fake News New York Times adjusted its phony article on the corruption and antisemitism which has taken place at Harvard. They never call for facts, or factchecks, because the Times’ is a corrupt, unprincipled, and pathetic vehicle of the Left,” President Trump said. “They wrote only negatively about me in the last Election, and I won in a landslide. To anyone who knows, they have ZERO credibility, a “Rag” at the lowest level. I look forward to watching their rapidly falling circulation force them to finally close their doors. That would be great news for America!”
