Tulsi Gabbard is fighting back against media attacks and criticism from Congress. On Tuesday, the Director of National Intelligence (DNI) posted a statement on X in which she addressed allegations against her and defended her recent presence during the execution of a search warrant in Fulton County, Georgia. Gabbard described the allegations as false and said they were being propped up by media propaganda.
“Contrary to the blatantly false and slanderous accusations being made against me by Members of Congress and their friends in the propaganda media, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence has and will continue to take action under my statutory authorities to secure our nation and ensure the integrity of our elections,” Gabbard said.
The criticisms against Gabbard originated from an FBI search warrant executed on January 28 at the Fulton County Election Hub and Operation Center. The purpose of the warrant was to investigate potential evidence of voter fraud during the 2020 presidential election. Gabbard stated in her letter to Congress that her presence during the search was requested by President Trump and was well within the DNI’s statutory authority to gather and analyze intelligence relating to election security.
Gabbard’s letter also emphasized the importance of investigating voter fraud, classifying the issue as a matter of national security. She reiterated her office’s and the Trump administration’s commitment to examining potential vulnerabilities in the voting system and to working to ensure secure elections in the future.
“Interference in U.S. elections is a threat to our republic and a national security threat,” Gabbard said. “The President and his administration are committed to safeguarding the integrity of U.S. elections to ensure that neither foreign nor domestic powers undermine the American people’s right to determine who our elected leaders are.”
Gabbard concluded her statement with a warning that vulnerabilities in the U.S. election system had been identified, which could allow for the manipulation of election results. She expressed her commitment to conducting a thorough investigation and to sharing conclusions only after all evidence had been reviewed.
“Searching through intelligence holdings and conducting assessments with analytic rigor and excellence is an arduous and often time-consuming process,” Gabbard said. “However, that process ensures that the IC’s finished intelligence products are objective, independent of political considerations, and based on all available sources. I will share our intelligence assessments with Congress once they are complete.”
