President Donald Trump accused the Jan. 6 committee Friday of deceptively editing video in an apparent attempt to incriminate him.

Speaking at the Faith and Freedom Coalition “Road to Majority Conference” Friday in Nashville, Tennessee, the president contended, “The Unselects’ entire sham presentation is based on video that has been deceptively edited, misleadingly cut and even doctored.”

Specifically, in addition to editing others’ testimony surrounding the Capitol riots, Trump noted that his Jan. 6 speech had been selectively edited, removing key phrasing that showed his true intent.

The full video, which an account affiliated with President Trump posted, shows the 45th president asking supporters to “peacefully and patriotically” make their voices heard.

“Crazy Liz Cheney removed the part of my quote where I urged people to peacefully and patriotically make their voices heard,” he said.

Adding that the speech was possibly the “calmest speech” he had ever made, the president noted, “It didn’t make any difference because they have their narrative and they know that we’re leading in every single poll, both Republicans and Democrats, and they don’t like that.”

Contending that the hearings had placed the “menacing spirit that has devoured the American left” on full display, the president opined, “Before they try to change our nation, the left-wing fascists need to change themselves.”
