As the Jan. 6 Committee hearings persist, President Donald Trump took to Truth Social, slamming the “one sided, highly partisan Witch Hunt” and demanding “equal time” on national television networks to counterattack the committee’s claims.
The president called out the “Fake News Networks” for “perpetuating lies” by allowing the “slanderous Unselect Committee hearings to go endlessly and aimlessly on.”
“It is a one sided, highly partisan Witch Hunt, the likes of which has never been seen in Congress before,” Trump added. “Therefore, I am hereby demanding EQUAL TIME to spell out the massive Voter Fraud & Dem Security Breach!”
Despite lacking “equal time” and media attention, the president has been able to reach thousands of Americans through his viral app Truth Social.
Responding to the first public hearing last week, Trump unleashed a string of Truths about the committee’s attempts to cast a shadow over Republicans and disregard election fraud concerns, as previously reported.
To fight back against baseless claims surrounding the events on Jan. 6 at the U.S. Capitol, the 45th president argued that he suggested deploying up to 20,000 National Guard troops in D.C. Still, it was rejected by “Crazy Nancy Pelosi” and the city mayor.
The 45th president’s statement appears to be confirmed by a Capitol Police report on the timeline of events.
Even with media attention, the televised hearings’ ratings have been “absolutely awful,” as Trump points out.
“The T.V. Ratings for the January 6th Unselect Committee were absolutely awful,” Trump said on Truth Social. “Perhaps the reason is that it is being ‘sponsored’ by Adam’ Shifty’ Schitt and the same people that brough you the Russia, Russia, Russia HOAX, and that the Unselects are not interested in hearing from anyone saying the Election was Rigged and Stolen, despite the EVIDENCE being irrefutable!”
