President Donald Trump announced a massive drop in Chicago crime due to Operation Midway Blitz.

He celebrated the news Tuesday night in a post on Truth Social, stating, “I am proud to announce that Chicago, Illinois, despite all of the radical opposition and obstruction we have from the Mayor and the Governor, has seen Car Theft, Shootings, Robberies, Violent Crime, and everything else, drop dramatically. Since the launch of the DHS operation “Midway Blitz” in Chicago only weeks ago, Shootings are down 35%, Robberies are down 41%, and Carjackings are down almost 50% — And this is with just a small initial Federal Force, not the full “surge” we have done in Chicago and Memphis.”

The 47th President teased that efforts to combat crime will “ramp up” and that this new trend will continue in the city. He also decried local leadership’s opposition to his continued efforts to make Chicago safe again despite “Constant Violent Leftwing Terrorism against ICE Officers and Federal Agents.”

Last month, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) reported in a press release that federal ICE agents faced a 1,000 percent increase in assaults.

In August, President Trump called out the ongoing violence in Chicago and other “Democrat-run” cities. According to The White House, the windy city recorded the highest murder rate of any city for 13 consecutive years and the largest amount of illegal guns confiscated, yet only 16.2 percent of those crimes led to arrests.

Assistant DHS Secretary Tricia McLaughlin addressed rumors that Border Patrol agents would be leaving Chicago. She declared, “We aren’t leaving Chicago.” She then posted recent crime statistics, supporting the president’s announcement that crime rates have dropped in the windy city since the start of Operation Midway Blitz.

President Trump’s efforts to clean up U.S. cities began in Washington, D.C., and set the stage for further involvement in reducing crime nationwide. His focus on Making America Safe Again is a serious promise kept.
