President Donald Trump commended 49ers star Nick Bosa after he was fined by the National Football League for wearing a Make America Great Again hat during a post-game interview ahead of the presidential election.

Trump shared his support in a Sunday post to his Truth Social account.

“NICK BOSA IS A GREAT PLAYER!” he wrote.

Bosa was fined $11,255 on Saturday for wearing the hat and interrupting a post-game interview with two of his teammates.

“According to league rules, players are prohibited from displaying a personal message or non-sponsored branding ‘at any point throughout a game day when visible at the stadium and TV audience, including postgame interviews in the locker room or on the field,’” ESPN reported.

When asked about the pending fine ahead of the announcement, Bosa said, “I haven’t got one yet, but if it comes, it comes. It was well worth it.”

The response gained the attention of Elon Musk, who also commended Bosa for the political stand.

Musk reposted the video and announcement of Bosa’s fine, simply adding a fire emoji in a sign of support.

Bosa’s action also gained the attention of many others, including Outkick’s Clay Travis, RSBN previously reported.

“Nick Bosa just crashed the 49er post game interview to point to his ‘Make America Great Again’ hat. I honestly think Trump is winning majority of people athlete votes this year,” Outkick founder Clay Travis posted to X.

Comedian Tim Young added his comments on the impact of the brief scene on NFL’s Sunday Night Football.

“It’s not just that Nick Bosa crashed the post-game with his MAGA hat… It’s that everyone else around him enjoyed it. The tide has turned,” he wrote.

Bosa is not the only NFL star to recently express support for Trump. As RSBN reported, Green Bay Packers legend Brett Favre appeared as a special speaker at his rally on in Wisconsin.

Favre started as Green Bay’s quarterback from 1992 to 2007, leading the NFL team to two Super Bowls and receiving three MVP awards.

“My Vote is for what makes this country great, freedom of speech and religion, the second amendment, hard-working tax-paying citizens, police and military,” Favre wrote in his past endorsement of Trump on X.

“In this election, we have freedom of choice, which all should respect. For me and these principles, my vote is for [Trump],” he added.
