President Trump delivers powerful message of support for women’s sports

On National Women and Girls and Sports Day, President Trump made it clear that his administration remains committed to ensuring fairness and safety for female athletes. On Wednesday, President Trump issued a statement affirming his commitment to protecting women and preserving biological reality in sports.

“From youth leagues and high school varsity to the Olympic Games and the heights of professional sports, for decades, women and girls have exemplified the very best of American athletics,” President Trump said. “This National Women and Girls in Sports Day, we celebrate every female athlete for their devotion to excellence and for their incredible contributions to America’s character, culture, and unwavering competitive spirit.”

President Trump’s message is consistent with both his presidential campaign and his administration’s track record. As the participation of biological males rapidly spread throughout women’s sports, usurping opportunities and honors from female competitors, the president took a hardline stance during his campaign, stating that he would fight against the encroaching trend and end “transgender lunacy.”

After returning to office, President Trump followed through on the commitment with a series of executive orders that clarified the role of Title IX in protecting female spaces and pledged to withhold funding for any organization that denied women a level playing field through the inclusion of biological men. In his Wednesday statement, President Trump reiterated his administration’s policy and continued to provide clear leadership on the issue.

“Since I took office as the 47th President of the United States, America has once again proudly championed youth athletics, which instills in our Nation’s girls the skills they need to grow stronger, develop healthy habits, and overcome challenges—not only as athletes but as young citizens,” President Trump said. “My Administration’s policy is simple:  Any program that rejects biological reality and deprives women of fair and safe athletic opportunities will not receive federal funds.  Under my leadership, every woman’s safety, dignity, and work ethic will always be protected.”

President Trump concluded his statement by celebrating the achievements of women and girls in sports and committing to a future in which women are challenged to achieve greatness in their athletic endeavors.

“Female athletes go beyond breaking records or winning championships—they redefine what is possible, elevate their sports, and inspire the next generation of girls to achieve greatness,” President Trump said. “Today and every day, we recommit to preserving the timeless values that sports provide and to building a future where every young girl, collegiate athlete, and professional competitor pushes further, reaches higher, and dreams bigger.”
