President Trump honors Charlie Kirk’s legacy while abroad

President Donald Trump honored his friend and Turning Point USA President Charlie Kirk during a press conference in the United Kingdom on Thursday, just before returning to the United States.

During a press conference with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, President Trump delivered remarks highlighting a newly inked deal between the two countries, which will direct billions of dollars’ worth of AI and quantum computing technology across the Atlantic in a “Tech Prosperity Deal.”

The president praised the meaningful alliance with the UK, noting that it was an “enduring connection.”

But amid his remarks, President Trump stopped to honor the memory of the late Charlie Kirk, who was murdered at Utah Valley University a little over one week ago, much to the shock of the country – and the world.

“Kirk was heinously assassinated for speaking his mind,” President Trump said during his remarks.

The president continued, “He was a great young man, [with an] incredible future – some people said he might be president. I told him, I said, ‘Charlie, I think you have a good shot some day at being president.’ He just wanted to take care of youth. He loved youth. I’ve never seen anyone relate to youth like Charlie, and they related to him, and they’re devastated.”

President Trump continued, “I appreciate the many British citizens who have offered their condolences. And again, Charlie was a great person – I’ll be going out to a service on Sunday, I’ll be leaving with some of the people in this room just to celebrate Charlie and all that he’s done. So incredible. Never seen anything like it.”

On Sunday, September 21, Turning Point USA will host a massive memorial service honoring the legacy of Charlie Kirk. The event will be held at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.

Attendees have been asked to wear their Sunday best in red, white, and blue.

Featured speakers include Charlie Kirk’s beloved widow, Erika Kirk, President Donald Trump, Vice President J.D. Vance, and many other key members of the conservative moment with whom Kirk was close friends and allies.
