President Trump is giving his full endorsement to his former competitor in the 2024 GOP presidential primary. On Tuesday, Vivek Ramaswamy, who is running to become the next Governor of Ohio, received a strong statement of support from the president.
“Vivek Ramaswamy is running for Governor of the Great State of Ohio, a place I love and WON BIG, THREE TIMES, in 2016, 2020, and 2024!” President Trump said. “ I know Vivek well, competed against him, and he is something SPECIAL. He is Young, Strong, and Smart!”
President Trump highlighted Ramaswamy’s political strengths and emphasized the policy priorities he shares with the Trump administration, including strong stances on the economy, immigration and crime policy. As part of his campaign, Ramaswamy has stressed the importance of economic opportunity and stated his goal of making Ohio “the most affordable state in America, where families get ahead, not fall behind.” He has also prioritized a crackdown on crime, particularly in Ohio’s major cities.
“Vivek is also a very good person, who truly loves our Country,” President Trump said. “As your next Governor, Vivek will fight tirelessly to Grow the Economy, Cut Taxes and Regulations, Promote MADE IN THE U.S.A., Champion American Energy DOMINANCE, Keep our now very Secure Border, SECURE, Stop Migrant Crime, Strengthen our Military/Veterans, Ensure LAW AND ORDER, Advance Election Integrity, and Protect our always under siege Second Amendment. ”
According to polling, Mr. Ramaswamy holds a strong lead going into election day. If he prevails in the Republican primary on Tuesday, he will likely face Dr. Amy Acton in the general election in November. Acton is the sole candidate in the Democratic primary and previously served as the director of the state Department of Health. Polling indicates Ramaswamy currently holds a narrow edge over Acton in the general gubernatorial race.
President Trump expressed his strong confidence in Ramaswamy and encouraged voters to support him. “Vivek Ramaswamy will be a GREAT Governor of Ohio, and has my Complete and Total Endorsement – HE WILL NEVER LET YOU DOWN!” President Trump said.
