President Donald Trump opened up about ongoing political attacks being lobbed against him amid his 2024 presidential campaign, discussing the tactics of his political opponents while speaking with journalist Enrique Acevedo during a special interview on Univision.

Trump discussed his legal battles, noting, “I think the people know it’s a political persecution. It’s a political hoax. This is Biden, who’s the worst president in the history of our country – we’ve never had a president so dumb, so incompetent and so corrupt from the standpoint of what they’re doing.”

He added, “They’ve weaponized the Justice Department, they’ve weaponized the FBI, and they’ve come at me with the worst indictments – nobody’s ever seen like it.”

Trump joked that he was “probably the only guy” who’s been indicted who has experienced a rise in political support amid a presidential election campaign.

“The people understand it – it’s a hoax,” he explained, describing the ongoing legal cases as something for “third world countries” and “banana republics.”

On Monday, the president hammered this message home by attacking CREW (Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington) for being a “team of losers and misfits,” scorching Special Counsel “Deranged Jack Smith,” Andrew Weissman, and Lisa Monaco.

He sarcastically remarked that they “will end up, because of their suffering from a horrible disease, TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME (TDS!), in a Mental Institution by the time my next term as President is successfully completed. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”

For reference, CREW has been responsible for bringing cases to court that have aimed to remove Trump from the 2024 ballot (in Colorado and Michigan, for example).

He concluded on Univision, “The people, ultimately, are going to speak. And I think the people get it better than anybody else – better than we do. It’s amazing, they see it. Nothing like this has ever happened to this country.”
