President Donald Trump railed against Sen. Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska, during a supercharged Save America rally in Anchorage, Alaska, on Saturday night. Trump joked, “I rate her number one bad…she’s by far the worst!”
The crowd booed Murkowski every time her name was mentioned, signaling their deep-seated disapproval of the senior senator, who has been in office since 2002.
“Get Murkowski out of here because she’s not a Republican – she’s not a Republican!” he remarked, drawing cheers of agreement from the audience.
Trump thanked the crowd for supporting and voting for him during his remarks, adding, “Now, I’m voting for you. That’s why I’m here!”
Trump’s Saturday night rally offered support to former Republican governor of Alaska, Sarah Palin, who is running for a House seat in the 2022 midterm elections, and Kelly Tshibaka, who is running for the U.S. Senate.
“Sarah was hot as a pistol, and everybody wanted her,” Trump remarked of Palin’s past political achievements. He also noted that Palin endorsed him in 2016. “Sarah came out of nowhere…[she said] the one I like best is a guy named Donald Trump.”
He added, “So, Sarah, I’m here to say, I like you best…I know your opponents and I like you way better.”
