President Donald Trump on Wednesday announced good news amid the push-and-pull of wartime negotiations with Iran, confirming that eight female protesters in Iran previously scheduled for execution will “no longer be killed.”

This update comes just one day after the president called on Iran to release these eight unidentified women, who were allegedly scheduled to be executed on Wednesday evening, according to his statement.

“I have just been informed that the eight women protestors who were going to be executed tonight in Iran will no longer be killed,” the president stated on Truth Social.

He continued, “Four will be released immediately, and four will be sentenced to one month in prison. I very much appreciate that Iran, and its leaders, respected my request, as President of the United States, and terminated the planned execution.”

Meanwhile, the United States is still weighing its options when it comes to the war in Iran. On Tuesday evening, President Trump announced that he would extend the ceasefire, which would have expired on Wednesday afternoon in Tehran.

This announcement came shortly after Vice President J.D. Vance was observed at the White House on Tuesday afternoon, along with other key cabinet members. The vice president had previously been expected to fly to Islamabad, Pakistan, for peace talks, but those negotiations have been postponed.

Thus far, the president has remained firm on his decision to keep the U.S. military blockade on the Strait of Hormuz in place. Senator Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., widely known as a primary supporter of war with Iran, said he spoke with President Trump and Secretary of War Pete Hegseth on Tuesday morning and offered an update on the status of the blockade.

“I not only expect this blockade to stay in place until Iran shows a commitment to change their ways, I expect the blockade will be growing and that it could become global soon,” Graham wrote on X.

As reported by RSBN, peace negotiations between the U.S. and Iran could resume as soon as Friday, with Pakistan once again acting as the mediator, although nothing is certain regarding a negotiating timeline.
