President Trump is looking ahead to the 2026 midterm elections, and his recent prediction on the outcome is an echo of his dependable positive outlook and can-do attitude.
“You know, we have a Fake News that doesn’t get the word out,” the president told Larry Kudlow in a brand-new interview.
The president leaned into his administration’s strides to reestablish American dominance in his second term
“…In 50 years, a president that won, even a popular president, somebody that’s done well – I’m popular, and I’ve done well. I think we have the greatest economy, actually, ever in history,” President Trump remarked.
As far as the 2026 midterms, the president offered a rosy prediction, despite his criticism of the “Fake News.”
He continued, “We have the hottest country anywhere in the world…we should win in a landslide, and we’ll do everything we can to do it.”
President Trump has been back in office for just over one year, and Republicans have enjoyed majorities, however slim, in both the House and Senate. Amid the 2026 midterm season, there is considerable speculation about whether Democrats will retake the majority in at least the House.
Polymarket’s odds are currently holding at 82 percent that Democrats will win the House again this year, along with a 36 percent chance that Democrats will “sweep” in November.
This far out from the election, these polls could mean little to nothing, as a lot can happen in one year. Polymarket’s odds strongly project that Republicans will hold the Senate (63 percent), and this seems likely.
As 2026 begins, Americans continue to seek economic relief, which has been a big focus of the Trump administration. However, according to a new survey from Rasmussen Reports, 50 percent of Americans think “big business” is far too influential over the Trump White House, suggesting disapproval for the continued enrichment of big corporations.
President Trump has swung deals with countless companies like Apple and IBM, as well as with a slate of foreign countries, to secure trillions of dollars of investment in the U.S. economy. This is excellent as a jump start to help the domestic economy grow rapidly in the wake of Joe Biden’s policies, which killed American production.
That being said, the Trump administration must intensely focus on small-town America, Main Street USA, and the plight of the blue-collar man and woman if the Republican Party wants to continue its momentum among mainstream voters.
Previously, President Trump offered some creative ideas to foster continued voter support for the GOP ahead of the midterms, including holding a national convention in a non-presidential campaign year.
As reported by RSBN, he noted, “We have raised far more money than the Democrats, and are having a great time fixing all of the Country Destroying mistakes made by the Biden Administration, and watching the USA heal and prosper. The results are incredible, a record pace!!! In that light, I am thinking of recommending a National Convention to the Republican Party, just prior to the Midterms.”
The president has also spoken before about the importance of winning the midterms this year, telling Republicans in early January that if the GOP doesn’t maintain its majorities, “they’ll find a reason to impeach me.”
