President Donald Trump addressed the nation from Trump Tower on Friday morning, following Thursday’s harrowing verdict from a New York jury that convicted him on 34 counts related to the alleged falsification of business records in the salacious hush money case.

The president cut a solemn but strong figure in the atrium of his famous tower, surrounded by media representatives and cameras. He touched on a variety of subjects but largely addressed the “fascist” state of the nation and the far-left court system of New York.

“If they can do this to me, they can do this to anyone,” he said.

“The country’s in very bad shape, and they’re very much against me saying these things,” he added.

President Trump noted that he was still under a gag order in the case, but nevertheless attacked Judge Juan Merchan as being “conflicted” and “crooked,” while lambasting the gag order as “nasty.”

The president said that the trial in New York was done “in total conjunction with the White House and the DOJ, just so you understand.”

He said that the trial was “very unfair” and lamented the fact that his legal team wasn’t allowed to bring certain individuals to the stand to testify for the defense.

“It’s a rigged trial, we wanted a venue change, where we could have a fair trial – we didn’t get it,” he explained.

As far as bearing the burden of being the leader of the America First movement and taking the arrows of legal persecution, President Trump said, “I don’t mind being out there because I’m doing something for this country. I’m doing something for our Constitution.”

He continued, “This is far beyond me. This is bigger than Trump, this is bigger than me, this is bigger than my presidency.”

Toward the end of his remarks, he soberly added that he was “willing to do whatever I have to do to save our country and to save our Constitution – I don’t mind.”

He concluded, “We will continue the fight, we’re going to make America great again, very simply.”
