Kash Patel, the former Chief of Staff to the Secretary of Defense during the Trump administration, is suing the U.S. Department of Defense for “obstructing” the publication of his upcoming book, “Government Gangsters: The Deep State, the Truth, and the Battle for our Democracy.”
In an exclusive interview with Breitbart, Patel discussed his lawsuit, which alleges that the DOD is stopping him from publishing unclassified information in his book, which is expected to launch Summer 2023.
Patel wrote on Truth Social, “The US govt is illegally censoring and preventing the release of my new book, #GovernmentGangsters… so Im suing them. Must be a few reasons @realDonaldTrump called this book ‘the roadmap to winning in 2024’ – We will not bend the knee[.]”
Breitbart reported:
“The three-count lawsuit accuses the DOD of infringing on his First Amendment right to publish his book, unreasonably delaying formal completion of the classification review, and asks the court to allow his legal counsel to access any alleged classified information the DOD claims is within the book.”
Patel’s book takes a hardline stance against government corruption, describing the Deep State as “a sinister cabal of corrupt law enforcement personnel, intelligence agents, and military officials at the highest levels of government” who “plotted to overthrow a president.”
The book description continues, “Even after they failed, they continue to secretly pull the levers of power without any accountability to the American people. This isn’t the synopsis of a fictional spy thriller. This is what is actually happening in the United States government.”
Patel has previously authored two children’s books, “The Plot Against the King,” and “The Plot Against the King 2: 2,000 Mules.” Both publications are child-friendly stories that relate the true-life tale of Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign plot to discredit then-candidate Donald Trump and the evidence of ballot trafficking presented in the film “2,000 Mules,” by Dinesh D’Souza.
