Following a historic and successful tour of Asia this week, President Donald Trump’s diplomatic work overseas has spurred the Republic of Korea to join First Lady Melania Trump’s “Fostering the Future Together” initiative amid a new deal with the U.S.
According to the Office of the First Lady, this comes amid a new Technology Prosperity Deal between the two countries, which aims to bilaterally emphasize and invest in fields like technology, science, and AI innovation.
In an official statement, Mrs. Trump said, “I am proud that the Republic of Korea is joining my global coalition to empower children through the promotion of technology, innovation, and education. As a longstanding leader in technological advancement, the Republic of Korea will offer invaluable insights to the participating nations in the Fostering the Future Together initiative.”
This cooperation was signed during President Trump’s visit to Asia, and was developed with the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, along with the Office of the First Lady.
Mrs. Trump launched “Fostering the Future Together” in September as an expansive branch of her original “BE BEST” platform that she kick-started during her husband’s first term in the White House.
As reported by RSBN, the First Lady announced this launch at the United Nations in New York.
She remarked at the initial launch, “As a child’s dreaming world manifests their curiosity in the physical world, their imagination is a place filled with pastimes which adults often consider insignificant, unimportant. But I wonder – are these early childhood activities rehearsals for the future perfection of society? The blueprint for our progress?”
“Fostering the Future Together’s mission is to ensure that every child can flourish in the digital era,” she added.
First spouses of heads of state are invited to participate in this initiative, which aims to assess technologies and ensure that the safety and opportunities for all children are properly prioritized.
According to the Office of the First Lady, coalition members of the initiative will be invited to an “inaugural meeting” next year at the White House.
